Self-massage for management of TMJ dysfunction

The temporomandibular joints (TMJ) are the hardest working joints. Throughout the day, we engage TMJ muscles approximately 2000 times while talking, chewing, and performing other activities. Additionally, during sleep, many of us suffer from stress-related Bruxism and clenching. These muscular tensions can trigger headaches, pain in the jaws, and severe tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Furthermore, these tensions may lead to hearing loss and more.

A medical massage program proves to be a significant methodology for managing stress and addressing TMJ dysfunctions.
