Massage in the Treatment of Cancer part 1

Massage in the Treatment of Cancer part 1

The truth is, our treatment is nothing more than the stimulation of the body’s natural healing processes. As Hippocrates once said, “The natural healing force within each of us is the greatest force in getting well.” We simply assist the body in regaining its ability to heal.

For example, when treating spinal disorders, in most cases our therapy leads to spinal decompression, which in turn restores adequate blood supply, reduces inflammation, and improves muscular function. In simple terms—without going into detailed descriptions—our work enables the body’s healing mechanisms to function optimally. The rest is done by the body’s inherent potential.

Approximately nine weeks ago, I was contacted by a former patient, whom I had successfully treated for thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) several years ago. He had originally been referred by his primary care physician, who believed that my treatment could make a difference. It was a challenging case, and an orthopedic surgeon had recommended surgical removal of the first rib. Fortunately, the surgery was avoided, and the patient experienced significant improvement. He was amazed and grateful—and so was I.

During our recent conversation, he told me that three years ago he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. He underwent a radical prostatectomy, but eleven months after the surgery, his PSA levels began to rise. He received 35 radiation treatments and a full course of Lupron injections. For almost a year, the treatment seemed successful—his PSA held at 0.2.

However, in the months prior to contacting me, his PSA climbed to 0.8, strongly suggesting a recurrence of cancer. A PET scan revealed some minor activity near the bladder. His doctors explained that this location was not suitable or safe for further radiation, and the only remaining treatment option was hormonal therapy.

He told me, “No way I’ll go through hormonal therapy again. Maybe it kept me alive, but I wasn’t truly living. The side effects were terrible. If you saw me, you wouldn’t recognize me—my body changed, my chest looks like a woman’s.”

I tried to explain that hormonal therapy is the standard treatment in such cases and can save lives, but I could hear the anger in his voice. He firmly said, “It’s my life. I’m 68 years old, and I’ve made the decision—no more hormonal therapy. I contacted you to ask if you know of any alternative therapies that might help me survive.”

I replied, “I’m sorry. I wish I could help.” After hanging up the phone, I felt tears run down my face, and I said a prayer for him. The moment I finished praying, a realization came to me—how could I crush his hope to survive by simply saying, “I don’t know what to do”?

In the past, I’ve written extensively about this methodology, and it has been clinically proven many times to boost the immune system. However, I hadn’t yet had the opportunity to apply it in a case like his.

I called him back. Before offering any alternative, I again tried to encourage him to reconsider hormonal therapy, just to be sure I was acting responsibly. He was slightly irritated. Then I said, “I may have something that could help in this kind of situation.”

He was inspired. I briefly explained that there is a method which can activate and unleash the immune system, and in some cases, it may help the body fight cancer. But I insisted I must first speak with his primary care physician.

That conversation was brief. His doctor told me, “Boris, he won’t go back to hormonal therapy. Just have him sign a letter of understanding, outlining everything you’ve explained to me, and try to save his life. His Gleason score is quite high, and if the cancer metastasizes to his bones, he’ll die in agony.”

Let us dedicate Part Two to conclusions and further discussion.
